Possible definitions for oolite
aplite
Any igneous rock of simple composition, such as granite composed only of alkali feldspar, muscovite mica, and quartz; in a more restricted sense, uniformly fine-grained (less than 0.08 in., or 2 mm), light-colored igneous rocks that have a characteristic granular texture. Unlike pegmatite, which is similar but much coarser-grained, aplite occurs in small bodies that rarely contain zones of different minerals. The two rocks may occur together and are assumed to have formed at the same time from similar magmas.
colitis
Inflammation of the colon, especially of its mucous membranes. Spastic colitis, with usually temporary abdominal pain and diarrhea, may account for 50% of all digestive-tract illnesses. In ulcerative colitis, the inflamed membranes develop patches of tiny ulcers; the diarrhea contains blood and mucus. It often becomes chronic, with sustained fever and weight loss; complications and death may result. If treatment with sulfasalazine or steroids does not control it, part or all of the colon may need to be removed.
halite
Naturally occurring sodium chloride (NaCl), common or rock salt. Halite occurs on all continents, in beds that range from a few feet to more than 1,000 ft (300 m) in thickness. Termed evaporite deposits because they formed by the evaporation of saline water in partially enclosed basins, they characteristically are associated with beds of limestone, dolomite, and shale. Halite is found in large deposits in New York and in Russia, France, India, and Canada.

After Bismarck's dismissal in 1890, Holstein advised against the renewal of the Reinsurance Treaty. He held important posts under Chancellors L. Caprivi, C. Hohenlohe-Schillingsfü rst, and B. Bü low, but he proved powerless to oppose the policies of Emperor William II and was dismissed in 1906.
