Possible definitions for jacami

jacama
Leguminous vine (Pachyrhizus erosus, or P. tuberosus), also called yam bean. A native of Mexico and Central and S. America, it is grown for its edible root. The irregularly globular, brown-skinned tubers are white-fleshed, crisp, and juicy. There are two varieties, those with clear juice and those with milky juice. Both have a mild flavor and are eaten raw or cooked. Sometimes very young seedpods of the plant are eaten, but the mature seeds are highly toxic.

Jacobite
In British history, a supporter of the exiled Stuart king James II (Latin, Jacobus) and his descendants after the Glorious Revolution of 1688. The movement was strong in Scotland, Wales, and Ireland and included Catholics and Anglican Tories. The Jacobites, especially under William III and Queen Anne, could offer a feasible alternative title to the crown, and several attempts were made to restore the Stuarts. In 1689 James II landed in Ireland, but his army was defeated at the Battle of the Boyne. In the Fifteen Rebellion (1715), led by John Erskine, 6th earl of Mar (1675-1732), Jacobites tried to seize the crown for J. Stuart, the Old Pretender. In the Forty-five Rebellion (1745) C. Stuart, the Young Pretender, took Scotland, but the Jacobite army was crushed at the Battle of Culloden (1746).

Jami
Persian scholar, mystic, and poet. Despite offers of patronage by many Islamic rulers, he led a simple life, mostly in Herat. His prose ranges from Qur'anic commentaries to treatises on Sufism and music. His poetry expresses ethical and philosophical views in fresh, graceful language. His best known poetry collection is The Seven Thrones (or Ursa Major). He is often called the last great mystical poet of Iran.

Salamis
Ancient city, Cyprus. Located on Cyprus' E coast, it had an active trade with Phoenicia, Egypt, and Cilicia. According to tradition, it was founded by Teucer, a hero of the Trojan War. A major Hellenic center during the struggles between Greece and Persia, it was the scene of a Greek naval victory in 449 BC, and again in 306 BC when Demetrius I Poliorcetes defeated Ptolemy I Soter of Egypt. It was visited later by Sts. Paul and Barnabas. Under the Byzantine empire it was known as Constantia after Constantius II rebuilt it AD 337-61. It was abandoned after its destruction by the Arabs in 647-48.
