Possible definitions for jacals

Casals
Spanish (Catalan)-U.S. cellist and conductor. He received early instruction from his organist father, and took up the cello and composition in his teens. Sent by royal sponsors to the Brussels Conservatory in 1895, he was told they could teach him nothing. An audition with the conductor Charles Lamoureux (1850-1899) in 1899 led to recognition as a supreme musician. He performed internationally as soloist, in a trio with Alfred Cortot (1877-1962) and Jacques Thibaud (1880-1953), and from the 1920s as a conductor. Refusing to return to Spain after F. Franco took power, he ultimately made his home in Puerto Rico.

Leguminous vine (Pachyrhizus erosus, or P. tuberosus), also called yam bean. A native of Mexico and Central and S. America, it is grown for its edible root.
