Possible definitions for atropinize
atropine
Anticholinergic drug, a poisonous, crystalline alkaloid from certain nightshade plants, especially Egyptian henbane, used chiefly in ophthalmology to dilate the pupil of the eye or to break up adhesions between the lens and iris. It also dries and relieves hay fever and cold symptoms; relaxes intestinal spasms; is used in treating enuresis; inhibits the vagus nerve; and affects the central nervous system. Synthetic substitutes with more specific effects (e.g., dilation of the pupil or antispasmodic action) have been developed.
