Possible definitions for aaronite
aconite
Any member of two genera of perennial herbaceous plants of the buttercup family: Aconitum (monkshood or wolfsbane), consisting of summer-flowering poisonous plants, and Eranthis (winter aconite), consisting of spring-flowering ornamentals. The dried tuberous root of A. napellus was formerly used as a sedative and a painkiller.
ammonite
Extinct shelled cephalopod whose fossils are often used to correlate rocks, especially of the Cretaceous period (144-66.4 million years ago). Most shells were coiled, but some were straight. Unusual ammonites called heteromorphs were shaped like fat corkscrews and fat hairpins and probably had difficulty moving about. Ammonites preyed on other aquatic invertebrates and were themselves prey to many larger animals, incl. marine reptiles. See also ammonoid.
taconite
Low-grade iron formation (e.g., in Minnesota). Recovery of the iron requires fine grinding and concentration of iron-bearing phases (see ore dressing), which are then formed into pellets suitable for blast furnaces. As high-grade deposits of iron ore have become depleted, taconite deposits have increased in importance.
